The Weekly Beat Down: Post TLC Edition!

It’s Monday, and the first episode of RAW following TLC is tonight. So, after such a historic TLC that saw SPOILER ALERT Randy Orton defeat John Cena and unify the World Heavyweight and WWE Championships to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, what can we expect to see on RAW tonight (based upon its five point preview)?

Point 1

Last night, Daniel Bryan put up a great showing against the Wyatt Family, but he was unfortunately, unable to overcome the trio. So, will Bray Wyatt continue to pursue Bryan to make him a new member of the Wyatt Family? I think so. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Bryan appear a bit broken on RAW tonight, and thus, easier pickins for Bray.

Point 2

Last night, Cody Rhodes and Goldust were able to successfully defend their tag tea championship against The Real Americans, Big Show and Rey Mysterio, and Ryback and Curtis Axel. They have been on fire since winning the titles from the Shield and currently show no signs of slowing down. So, who is up next for the champs? My guess would be the Real Americans, as they have been extremely strong against them as of late.

Point 3

Last night at TLC, CM Punk was able to overcome the Shield when Roman Reigns recklessly tried to attempt a spear through an announce table, giving himself a huge gash near his eye. He then accidentally speared his own partner Dean Ambrose, allowing Punk to pick up the victory. Does Roman’s reckless abandonment make him the weak link of the Shield? We will find out more tonight.

Point 4

Last night Big E. Langston defended his Intercontinental Championship against the very formidable Damien Sandow. He is poised to have a great 2014 as a dominant champion. Can he keep his streak alive? I think so. Langston is destined to be one of the biggest stars of the future. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him with the title around his waist for the majority of next year.

Point 5

Last night, as stated above, Randy Orton defeated John Cena to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Even Mr. McMahon showed up after the match to congratulate him. So, how long will it be before he’s put to the test, and which wrestler will step up to the plate? Well, the Royal Rumble is next month, so it’s a safe bet that the build up to Wrestlemania will begin shortly. I think that Cena will get his rematch on an episode of RAW, and then Punk will win the Rumble and challenge Orton at Mania.
